Therapy is a time to slow down in your week and pay attention to your own thoughts and feelings. Deciding to start therapy can feel like a big decision. The easiest way to find out if therapy is right for you is to give it a shot. Once you step into the therapy room and experience setting aside time each week for yourself with someone who feels like the right support, the reasons will follow.
Clients often state that, once they started therapy, they were able to manage the challenges in their life with ease and comfort and felt better able to process events and challenges as they happen and create meaningful changes they want.

Weight Inclusive Care is a framework that defines health in a holistic way. Health exists on a spectrum for each individual and can be defined by many different variables and characteristics. Health is a combination of mental, physical and social well-being. This is an alternative to the weight-centric approach to health that is most commonly taken. We believe in a more nuanced approach to health and work with our clients to find their own unique definition of health.

Thrope Therapy is a private-pay, out-of-network therapy practice. This means we do not participate directly with insurance networks or bill insurance companies on your behalf.
However, depending on your individual insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for therapy sessions through your out-of-network mental health benefits. We provide monthly superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
-
Working with an out-of-network therapist means that your therapist does not have a direct contract with your insurance company. Instead of paying a copay through your insurance, you pay the full session fee directly to the practice.
Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be able to receive a portion of that cost back through out-of-network reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits, but coverage and reimbursement amounts vary.
At Thrope Therapy, we want you to feel informed about your options before beginning therapy. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to understand your benefits and potential reimbursement.
-
Thrope Therapy is a private-pay practice, and session fees vary depending on the therapist and type of service.
It is between $225-$325 per session, but we offer sliding scale rates.
We believe in being transparent about the cost of care so you can make an informed decision when choosing a therapist. During your initial consultation, we'll discuss the applicable session fee and answer any questions you have about payment.
For information about current rates, please contact our team.

You may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your insurance plan's out-of-network mental health benefits.
Reimbursement depends on several factors, including your individual plan, deductible, coinsurance, and the amount your insurance company allows for each session.
Some insurance plans reimburse a percentage of the session cost after your deductible has been met, while others may have different requirements or limitations.
We recommend contacting your insurance provider before starting therapy to understand what your plan covers. While we're happy to provide the necessary documentation, we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
-
The best way to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits is to contact your insurance company directly. You can typically find the member services phone number on the back of your insurance card.
Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance representative:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I already met?
What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed once my deductible is met?
Is there a maximum reimbursement amount per session?
Are there any limits on the number of therapy sessions covered?
What documentation do I need to submit for reimbursement?
At Thrope Therapy, we provide clients with a monthly superbill, which is a detailed receipt that includes information about your therapy sessions, provider, and services received. You can submit this document directly to your insurance company to request potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Once submitted, your insurance company will review the superbill and determine whether you qualify for reimbursement based on your individual plan. While we're happy to provide the necessary documentation, reimbursement is determined by your insurance provider and cannot be guaranteed.
-
No. As an out-of-network private practice, Thrope Therapy does not submit insurance claims or bill insurance companies directly.
Clients are responsible for submitting their monthly superbills to their insurance providers and following up on the reimbursement process. We're happy to provide the necessary documentation to help make this process as straightforward as possible.
-
Thrope Therapy accepts all credit cards and HSA/FSA as payment. Payment is collected per session.
If you have questions about payment options or whether your HSA/FSA card can be used, please reach out to our team before scheduling your first appointment.
-
You can still choose to work with Thrope Therapy as a private-pay client, even if your insurance plan does not offer out-of-network mental health benefits.
We understand that the financial side of finding a therapist is an important consideration. We encourage you to review our session fees and consider what feels manageable for you before beginning therapy.
If you have questions about fees, payment, or getting started, we're happy to discuss them during a free consultation.
