Recovery Supper Club: An In-Person Eating Disorder Support Group in New York City
Join us for a special evening of food, community, and connections!
Recovery Supper Club is a monthly in-person event for adults in NYC in stable recovery from eating disorders and chronic dieting.
Recovery Supper Club is a monthly in-person eating disorder support group in New York City, hosted by Lily Thrope, LCSW and Chelsea Levy, MS, RD. We understand that eating disorder recovery is a long and often isolating journey. Most treatment programs conclude around the time of weight restoration, but the emotional and psychological work of recovery continues long after leaving treatment.
Navigating daily life in a world saturated with diet culture and disordered eating messaging can be overwhelming, and the loneliness of leaving a treatment program is something many people do not talk about enough. Recovery Supper Club was created to fill that gap. This is a judgment-free, weight-inclusive community dinner for adults in stable eating disorder recovery in NYC, where you can share a meal with people who genuinely understand.

Hosted by two eating disorder recovery clinicians: Lily Thrope, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker, certified intuitive eating counselor, and founder of Thrope Therapy in Midtown Manhattan. Chelsea Levy, MS, RD, CDN, is a registered dietitian, certified intuitive eating counselor, and founder of Chelsea Levy Nutrition. Together they bring a therapist and dietitian perspective to every gathering, creating a clinically informed and deeply supportive environment.
A space completely free of diet talk: Most social gatherings involve some level of food commentary, body talk, or diet culture noise. Recovery Supper Club is intentionally designed to be different. This is a space where you can eat without anyone commenting on your plate, your choices, or your body. The conversation is about connection, not calories.
A community for making real friendships in eating disorder recovery in NYC: One of the most consistent things we hear from people in eating disorder recovery is how hard it is to find community after leaving treatment. Recovery Supper Club is designed specifically for that gap. A place to meet people in New York City who are navigating the same challenges and get it without needing an explanation.
Upcoming Events:
Adults (ages 18+) - April 23rd at 6:30pm in NYC
The Story Behind Recovery Supper Club & Your Hosts
Recovery Supper Club, an in-person eating disorder community NYC, was born out of a real need for safe, supportive dining experiences. One of Lily’s clients expressed frustration with family and friends constantly making negative comments about food and body image while she was transitioning out of eating disorder treatment. She felt isolated and struggled to find a safe place to enjoy meals without triggering conversations. There was a loneliness to leaving program and missing the unique group supportive group meals.
One of the hardest parts of leaving treatment is losing the built-in support system of people who share the same recovery goals and understand the challenges of recovering in a fatphobic world. Recovery Supper Club was created to bridge that gap, bringing together individuals who have been through treatment, are actively working on their recovery or are seeking community that is not focused on dieting. This group provides a much-needed in-person eating disorder support group in New York City. We value connection, shared experiences and laughter.
